New York City is one of most incredible photography locations you could ever visit. Not only do you have enormous skyscrapers in every direction, but you also have a massive park with beautiful paths, bridges, etc only a few blocks away.
Living in northern New Jersey makes visiting the city a breeze. This day in particular was questionable at best. The clouds looked ready to break open and ruin the day, but to my surprise they held strong and looked almost menacing in every shot. I love seeing newer buildings in the city with so much glass on the outside you almost question how there is any left for anyone else. The buildings are made so well, the glass is almost a perfect mirror of the buildings near by. I love how you can see old, smaller buildings reflecting in the glass of something new especially when the old buildings were probably considered huge at some point in time.
I decided to remove most of the color from this image because the color from the clouds made everything feel dull and boring. Once I tried black and white I started loving the look, but wanted a more powerful feel like the clouds gave me on the day so I added a bit of color and contrast to the image.
